Bittersweet? No, just bitter, the taste of your tongue. Words you can’t have back, so they linger.

About This Quote

I used to be bitter. The taste of your tongue, the words you can’t have back, linger. When I was younger, I was bitter. I saw my parents fight and I hated it.

I never understood their relationship and couldn’t understand why they were always fighting. It didn’t make sense to me why they hated each other so much. How could they hate each other? They loved each other, right? So why did they always fight? Then one day I realized that bitterness is a poison that never leaves your body.

It lingers in your soul and makes you feel as if something is wrong with you. Bitterness hurts those around you too because it shows that you were not able to handle things as well as those around you. In the end, the bitterness that lingers after a bad breakup is a sign of a good heart.
